Meet Bumbinos
Meet Bumbinos. Our mudguards, now for kids.
We spent 15 years perfecting clip-on mudguards for adult cyclists. Then we had kids. So we built something for them, too.
Why We Made a Kids' Mudguard Brand
At Ass Savers, we've been making mudguards in Gothenburg, Sweden since 2011. What started as a piece of cardboard jammed under a saddle on a rainy commute has grown into a brand trusted by over a million cyclists worldwide — from daily commuters to professionals racing in the UCI World Tour.
But here's the thing: many of us on the team are now parents. And we kept running into the same problem. We'd take our kids out riding, they'd come home covered in muck, and we'd spend the evening doing laundry instead of… well, anything else. We looked at the kids' mudguard market and found it surprisingly bare. Most options were clunky, ugly bolt-on affairs that looked like an afterthought — because they were.
So we asked ourselves: what if we took everything we've learned from 15 years of designing minimalist, clip-on mudguards for demanding adult cyclists, and built something purpose-made for kids' bikes? Something light, functional, easy to install without tools — and, crucially, something that looks so cool that kids actually want it on their bike?
That's Bumbinos.
"If a bike becomes part of a child's play, it is used more often. If it is used more often, riding becomes second nature. And if riding becomes second nature, some of those children will keep riding."
Same Family, Same Standards
Bumbinos isn't a licensing deal or a third-party partnership. It's our sister brand. Both Ass Savers and Bumbinos are owned and operated by Paraply AB — the Gothenburg-based parent company founded by the same team that launched Ass Savers in 2011.
Same founders. Same design team. Same factory. Same materials. Same obsessive attention to detail that turned a cardboard prototype into the first mudguard ever used in the UCI World Tour.
The only real difference? The name. Because as much as we love our brand name, we understand that having "Ass Savers" written on your six-year-old's bike might raise some eyebrows at the school gate. Bumbinos gives parents all the engineering and quality they trust from us — wrapped in a name, and a visual identity, built entirely for kids.
What's in a Bumbinos Splash Pack
Every Bumbinos Splash Pack is a complete front-and-rear mudguard system for kids' bikes. Originally conceived for young riders, the wishbone-mount technology at its core was first proven in our adult Win Wing fenders before finding its way back to the audience it was always meant for — scaled down, refined, and made playful.
Two Sizes That Grow With Your Kid
The Small fits 14–16" wheels, typically for riders aged 3 to 6. The Large fits 18–20" wheels, covering ages 6 to 9 roughly. The clever part: the adjustable wishbone bracket is the same for both sizes. So when your child moves up to a bigger bike, you only need a new set of blades (€19) — not a whole new system.
Designs Kids Actually Want
Generic black plastic? Not here. Each Splash Pack comes in a bold, original design and includes a matched sticker pack so kids can decorate the rest of their bike. Current designs include:

And yes, if your kid is a purist (or you are), there's always classic black.
Installation
No tools required. The rear fender attaches via the modular wishbone mount using a single strap — the same system professional cyclists use on their adult bikes. The front fender straps to the downtube. Total installation time: about two minutes. Total tools needed: zero.
Why We Think Bumbinos Makes the Best Kids' Mudguard
We're biased. Obviously. But after fifteen years in the mudguard business, we know what works and what doesn't. Here's why we're genuinely proud of what Bumbinos has built — and why we believe no other kids' mudguard comes close.
Purpose-Designed, Not Scaled Down
Most kids' mudguards are miniaturised versions of adult products, or worse, generic plastic accessories thrown in as an afterthought by bike manufacturers. Bumbinos was designed from the ground up for children's bicycles. The blade lengths (24 cm and 30 cm for rear), the strap positioning, the wishbone geometry — every dimension was engineered specifically for 14–20" wheel sizes and the frame geometries common on kids' bikes.
Proven Technology
The modular wishbone mount isn't new — it was actually first developed with kids' mudguards in mind, but it made its public debut as an adult product with the Ass Savers Win Wing, which has become one of the most popular clip-on fenders for adult gravel and mountain bikes worldwide. Bumbinos brings the wishbone full circle, back to the younger riders it was originally designed for. It shares the same modular feet and lower leg components as the Win Wing — not experimental technology, but a system proven at the highest level of the sport, now adapted for smaller riders.
Made Responsibly
Bumbinos mudguards are manufactured entirely in Sweden, powered by 100% renewable energy. The blades contain a minimum of 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. When a set eventually reaches end of life, the polypropylene is standard recyclable packaging material — it goes in your regular plastic recycling.
Designed to Engage, Not Just Protect
The biggest difference between Bumbinos and every other kids' mudguard on the market isn't technical — it's philosophical. Most mudguards are things parents put on bikes. Bumbinos makes mudguards that kids want on their bikes. The bold designs and sticker packs turn a practical accessory into something that makes the bike feel more personal. And a bike that feels personal gets ridden more. That's the whole point.
